I gave up on Comcast a month ago after continuous rising fees and very poor customer service. I signed up for AT&T U-Verse and then they told me I lived too far out of range to get it (even though my neighbor has it. sigh). They asked me if I wanted their regular internet, but they managed to screw up the installation for it, and my parents have it and I know the service isn't that great.

I thought about getting Direct TV's internet service, but I've heard it's not that good either. Just wondering what my other options are? I live in the Atlanta, GA area.

You should try Verizon FiOS if it is available in your area. In live in Southern California and I have Verizon FIOS as my internet provider. My download and upload speeds are both consistently 30mbits/sec. Verizon has the fastest Internet with its fiber optics technology.
I am very satisfied with Verizon's pricing for Internet. Its Internet speeds are incomparable with TimeWarner's speeds.
