Yesterday, the local Safeway in my area had a power outage. As a result, today, they had certain foods on sale. I got a dozen eggs for 75 cents. Yes!

Some stuff they tossed, but based on how cold it was in my area yesterday, even a power outage wouldn't have ruined much except for ice cream.

Have you ever gotten food cheaper at a store after a power outage?

Or better yet, have you ever worked for a grocer and got to take food home for free because of this reason?

This happened to us once a long time ago when probably the electrical system still wasn't as good as it is now and we all constantly got power outages. Our local 7-11 would sell their ice cream at a bargain since it will only melt seeing as their freezers stopped working. Now looking back, I imagine it must have been such a horror for business owners of these establishments since they would suffer huge losses with just one extended power outage.
