I have long since gone with a fake tree because the place I put my tree is so close to my woodstove that real ones go crispy rather quickly. I love a real tree, though, and can't help remembering how much I enjoyed going and picking one out. Sometimes I'd cut my own, but most times I'd buy one already cut. Several times, I bought balled ones so I could plant them in the yard after Christmas; but as much as I liked the idea, I never had much luck with those.
What is your choice? And If you choose balled, do you have success growing them?
