My preferred sites to buy things in are Chinese. They have great prices and, if you know where to look, you can get good quality products (FYI, Chinese DOESN'T always mean a knockoff or a crappy product). So I bought a few things from different sites includying Everbuying.com. Small things. So these guys apparently shipped my products but I never got them. I asked them for a refund, they told me to keep on waiting. Did that, no luck. Complained again. No reply. So I started a Paypal dispute (I always pay with PayPal). EverBuying told me to wait even more. I escalated it to a claim and ended up getting my money back. I've also read so many reviews of people getting defective items. I bought from another site owned by them too, and got my items. The Micro SD card reader didn't work, and the other items were so crappy they didn't end up lasting more than a week. Bottom line, stay away from these sites, all owned by the same people. EverBuying.com (Worst customer service ever) aHappyDeal.com (Defective items, shipping charges) Sammydress.com (Never ships any items)
I agree with you, these sites are no other thing but SCAM. Although PayPal always defends the buyer, we mustn't take the risk of buying on this kind of sites. Chinese doesn't always mean scam or crappy products, as you said, however we must be aware of sites like these when we want to buy something through Internet. I have never ordered anything from everbuying or ahappydeal because I have heard many experiences like yours. I won't spend my money on these sites, and I recommend everybody to do the same.
I believe the "Chinese stuff are crap" belief comes from having so many things that are made in China. They now top the list in exportation. We can't say all of their products have bad quality just because some do; and those are the ones that cost way too little to be "good". EverBuying, however, seems to enjoy selling bad quality products. The ones I got didn't work. And the ones I wanted - they didn't ship them!
Nowadays, everything is made in China. This country has become the world factory and so will be it for a long time. I think there are different chinese products qualities, you can find crappy cheap items as well as you can find really good quality products.
Really? I would have never guessed. It's a good thing you insisted and got your money back, though. It is difficult to do that and we should all do it if we find a scam.
Thank goodness for PayPal buyer protection. It doesn't always work (you can't always win disputes) but it's sure better than having no one else on your side.
I think the best feature of Paypal it's its buyer protection. You are right, you can't always win disputes, but Paypal usually protects the buyer interests. In my case, I have won every single dispute I made.
Wow, I guess you do learn something every day. I've never thought of using Chinese sites even though like everyone else, I know that almost everything is made in China now. I'm going to start looking at some of these sites but it is good to know which ones are good and which ones aren't.
Most of them are good, it's these ones that you shouldn't trust. Make sure to look they have a verified PayPal address and, if possible, a McAfee Safety image. If you're going to buy something in a Chinese site, keep in mind that most customer services are terribly bad.
Not that I'm aware of - but in any case, eBay would have already banned them, and they'd have lost of all the money they make scamming people thanks to eBay Buyer Protection (which is far better and faster than PayPal's).
I think that before a person uses a site to buy anything from a one dollar toy to a large cost item it is best and easy to check out the site on Google. I just goggled EverBuying.com and found: Search :About 6,710,000 results (0.26 seconds). So before you take a chance with an online site that you are not personally knowledgeable about, don't take a chance! I also use PayPal and have had two events that they researched and I receive a full refund.
This is very helpful for people buying items online just like myself. I will add this site to my list of scam sites. I think it would be better to get a background check first before trying to purchase one of their items just like what I usually do. This is to prevent things like this to happen. Anyway, I would like to say thank you for the information.
That was a very good question indeed. I'm agree with you, eBay Buyer Protection is great, there is nothing like it! However, I don't know if these guys from everbuying sell through eBay but we can find lots of unreliable sellers over this site! We must be careful before buying,
thanks for providing this information. THe internet is undoubtly full of scammers who want to make a steal away your hard earned money. I suggest to always stay with those retail internet stores that had stood the test of time and are recognized and reputable enough. Maybe there are other online chinese stores out there that provides real value and I do agree that Chinese does not entirely mean, they're crap. Some Apple products are produced in china...
It's hard if they can run different sites under different names. They can just pose as innocent sellers victimizing gullible buyers. Karma will come to them!
As I mentioned in the other post about SammyDress, I got some packages in my mailbox today. One of them was from EverBuying too. They used to have this Group Deals where you could buy items from them for a much cheaper price. I bought one and it never said it was shipped. Luckily, it seems it was - but this is from months ago!
