I went to an all you can eat meat upscale restaurant this weekend called Fogo De Chao. It is a fine dining establishment that had prime cuts of meat on skewers that is brought around to the tables and hand carved for your taking. There is a card on your table that is green on one side and red on the other. If a carver Sees the green side, then he will stop, ask you if you would like the meat he is caring and care it for you. If it is red, they will keep going. I loved the place and it was fairly priced at $49 per person.

I haven't been to Fogo De Chao but I have been to the very similar, Texas de Brazil. We also have another locally owned Brazilian steakhouse close to our house that is phenomenal. It is our special occasion go-to restaurant as we all love it, but it gets pricy for a family of four. Although pricy, it is worth every penny (and every calorie -- another reason for not going too often!).

Can't eat meat like I used to but I am living vicariously through you guys, LOL. Back in my carnivorous days, there was a casino resort called PALA that had an extraordinary buffet. It was not a table or small restaurant but a huge room the size of a medium supermarket with high ceilings. Everywhere you turned it was wall-to-wall food but the highlight of my trip (I don't gamble much) is having lamb, prime rib, steaks, and all kinds of sausage for me to sample.

This restaurant sounds fantastic. What a great experience! The closest thing to this that we have in the UK are carveries where you get a choice of meats joints ready for carving at the counter and they carve it for you and place slices on your plate. Then you choose your own vegetables including roast vegetables and also Yorkshire pudding. I like these restaurants because you can have more than one type of meat on your plate at the same time which I don't do at home.

$49 seems a bit pricey to be honest - does that include anything else such as sides and a drink? Even some of the nicer steakhouses here in Cleveland want about $25-$35 for a steak, so unless you're eating more than the equivalent of two large steaks, it's not much of a discount. Plus with some of these places offering "unlimited" of some expensive ingredient, they often try to get you stuffed with other inexpensive ingredients first, to keep you from going overboard with the expensive stuff. The other thing you need to watch out for is if they take forever to come back for more servings. Some places will say all you can eat, but your server may not come back to your table for long periods of time, and/or the kitchen may take extra long to put out your orders for more.

$49 seems too high to me for barbecued meat. Someone tried to start one of those here once and while the food was good the meat didn't seem very high quality and each piece they served me was more cooked than I prefer. I think the restaurant here was only $25 per person, but in the end I wished I would have just gone to a sit down steakhouse and enjoyed once steak rather than the whole cow, pig, chicken, etc..

That sounds like its similar to Ryan's steakhouse. It's all buffet, but along with the buffets and salad bars you could go order a steak and watch the guy cook it. The total for your buffet and your drink was right around 9$. My only complaint is that it was the best buffet and they had to close down?? That's just wrong.

I’d love an all you can eat meat place. The price seems a bit steep though. I don’t think I’d pay that much. But, I’m a guy on a budget who’s looking for as many deals as possible.

I've heard of this type of restaurant and I think it is the norm in the country of its origin. I think it is a very good idea and one that could be really worth the money especially considering most of the other eat all you can establishments always have some sort of catch, but from what in understand when it comes to this type there is not much of a catch and they do want your to get full and enjoy your experience as much as possible. Definitely sounds like a good thing to splurge on in a special occasion.
