I know that when you want to keep the bugs away in the middle of summer it can be hard. However, I have recently tried the citronella candles and these work great! I am sure it will work for you as well, the only downside is they are pricey, but you can find them on sale at times and I can usually get about 2-3 weeks of burn Time Out of each one.
I am going to try a Citronella again. The last I had one, they bugs still seemed to fly right near it so I thought it was useless?!
btatro I had the same issue with mine the last time I had them. However, it was quite funny when they would fly so close they would land in the flame. Then I did not have to worry about that bug anymore!
I actually had the opposite effect. The candle was so strong I couldn't stand outside because the fume was intoxicating! It did ward off bugs though I just couldnt enjoy being outside anymore
