I have just began composting as I want good soil to use for my garden. I bought a compost bin, but I'm confused on how to get it started? Should I put grass clippings in first, or just start putting in food scraps? Also what's the best way to keep it going? Do you water it every day or churn it?

I don't own one myself but from what I understand you can just start by adding whatever you've got as long as it is plant based material. As far as how often to water or turn it, it may depend on the size of the compost maker, how much material you put in it and how often you put it in. Didn't it come with some type of owner's manual? If not, you may be able to find some information online. Good luck!

I don't think you need to churn it or water it. We top up our compost with food scraps, we have a little basket which we fill up through the week and we then take it down to the compost at the end of the garden.
