I have a friend who gives his dog a present every Christmas and on the dog's birthdays. I've personally never understood this myself, but I guess he just loves his dog that much, which is a good thing. Do you guys give your pets gifts? What kinds of gifts do you give them, and on which occasions?

I buy toys for my pets all the time, but I've never given them gifts on special occasions. I just restock the toy supply as needed, or if I find a good sale. I give Christmas gifts to my mother's dog, but that's because she's on a fixed income and can't afford a lot of new toys for her dog.

I haven't given a "material" gift yet for my pet, but I tend to treat my cat when it comes to giving him the food that he likes and prefers the most, because he is quite a picky eater. Maybe if I actually had more money to spare then I probably would buy him a gift too.
