Have you ever been out picking your own fruits? I mean actually going to say a farm, and actually getting down and dirty picking them. I have, with strawberries only though. Its fun picking them because you get to chose the juicy ones from your little patch area. I also find that the farms in the area offer great prices for buckets full! I often freeze them and they can last a lot longer, getting your money's worth. :)

I am fortunate to have free fruit available for the picking. I have my secret blueberry patch as I call it which supplies me with as many berries as I want. We also have blackberries everywhere as they are just weeds around here. There are U-Pick berry farms where a person can go and pick rather than paying full price but the savings is not enough to justify the time it takes. This would make sense for someone picking 20+ pounds of a berry for jam or cooking but not for just eating. I find that the farm stands by the side of the road are cheaper than buying the fruit in the stores and offer fresher produce. I am willing to pay a little extra directly to the farmer to have his people pick.

Of course! I grew up in a small town with nature and farms all around. I spent my childhood and teenage years getting oranges, mangoes, berries, straight from the tree! I find that when you just rip the fruit from the tree it has another taste. It's fresh and yummy!

    Yep!

I used to love picking strawberries and blackberries. I don't usually pick other fruits and I haven't done it in a long time. I love going out and getting to hand pick exactly which fruits I want, though!

I've never actually done this myself, but I have eaten fruits people have grown themselves. I feel like I should start doing this someday though, because I could probably save a lot of money from not buying fruits at the market. I might even be able to make money by selling some of them, who knows?

We have our own farm with so many types of vegetables and fruits so yes we do a fruit picking on our own.

If we have a lot then we will sell the rest at the market but most of the time we actually finished the fruits while picking them and brought nothing back to the house :D

We have a lot of lime trees too which is one of our fruits that I dislike to pick because there are many ants on its trees. They like building their nests on its leaves and that makes the fruit picking harder for us.

Yes, and I love it! My grandparents had a farm and a lot of trees as I grew up so as you can imagine it was a lot of work, but fun. We had strawberries, apples, pears, grapes and plums - yum! Some fruit we used for jam and some for alcoholic beverages, like wine. Looking back I now realize how much money we used to save by growing our own trees. Now I have to pay for everything, not fun! Maybe one day, if and when I get some land, I'll find myself again in the middle of an orchard picking fruit.
