Our house is all electric, and I'd like to know if I can save money with gas-maybe we'll convert to gas. But I'm not sure if it's really cheaper...I just don't like depending on electricity for everything. Seems like I've heard that gas is cheaper and makes more sense for our environment....

My cooker, boiler and heating run on gas. As a top-up, or alternative, I sometimes do use electrical space heaters, which I find more efficient for smaller spaces and rooms. Ideally, I'd like to run all my appliances on solar energy, and eagerly await that day when this will become possible for me. You might want to do a comparative energy-cost analysis (not sure if you can find a free online service for this) and check whether using electricity for some of your household appliances, and gas for others, will reduce your bills.
