There are so many hair removal products on infomercials, but I'm wondering if any of them work? I hate shaving, plucking, waxing and tweezing!! It'd be so nice if there were a lotion or device that literally removed hair and kept it away for a while. Am I right, ladies? Let me know if you've found one!

Hah, I wish! I've had terrible luck with this stuff. The "lotions" were more like acids and scalded my skin so badly. I have yet to meet anyone who can actually use that stuff.

I use a women's electric shaver sometimes and it does fairly well, but it's not as close a shave as a razor.

My favorite option is the Intuition razor by Schick. It doesn't really fit what you're asking for here, but it really does make shaving less of a hassle. The soap around the blades is as good as shaving cream and it's quite gentle.

However, refills are expensive. Still, by the time the soap runs out, the razor is dull so it at least nothing is being wasted!

I always use a product called Veet. I get it from my local Wal-Mart and cost about $8.00 for a big bottle of it. It's just like lotion, you rub it on and let it sit for about 6 minutes then you just rub it off. It last anywhere from a week to two weeks. It has a strong odor to it but it works great.

I have had great luck with Veet too. I do have sensitive skin and while other products irritate it, this one for some reason does not. And you are right about the strong smell, it does stink, but it's worth it because I hate shaving, I always manage to cut myself or miss a big area lol

None of the creams work very well for me, what keeps the hair away the longest for me is waxing but it's so expensive to have done at a salon and so hard to do myself. I'm really looking seriously into laser hair removal but I think it's fairly expensive.

That sounds like Nair. I used to use Nair but the smell is absolutely disgusting. I think that Nair is cheaper than Veet. I don't think that it costs that much. Although it has been years since I used Nair, so it may have gone up that much. I'm not sure. Does Veet smell as bad as Nair?

It's been a while since I've tried Nair, so I'm not sure what their current smell line is. I do know that Veet has some "fresh" smell options that are fragranced and not too too bad. They're still going to smell chemically, but with a perfume over the top really. I don't think it's as bad as what Nair used to be like, though.

There is a product called smooth away where you kind of buff the hairs away. No chemicals, but you have to wait until the hair grows in a little more to use it. It is cheap and was sold in Walmart and I am sure many other stores too. I cannot guarantee it working for everybody tho, we are all different. I have thought about going for electrolysis, but it is not the cheapest method.

I would LOVE to get laser hair removal! Nair did not work for me. I may try Very as some others have suggested.

I bought a No-No about 5 months ago. Love it! After about 2 months of use, the hair grew back much slower and it was a lot finer than it used to be. Now, I even have some smaller patches about the size of a quater that haven't grown back in a while. I hate the smell of burnt hair that it makes and you skin kind of smells like it for a bit after, but I just try to make sure to use maisturizer after and have a bath once that has soaked in to get rid of the smell. I will also burn some aroma candles sometimes when I use it to lessen the smell

Me too! I am so hoping that one day I can afford to do that, especially in some not so great areas.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I've never heard of the No-No; I'll have to look that up. Nair is great for when my leg hair gets kind of longish (like in the winter when I don't care as much), but it sucks for the short stubbly hair. But I'm really more concerned with finding something for the problem areas that I'd rather not admit to (like the mustache area... lol)

I used Veet and it's great option but I can't belive that it last so long! With me was just a couple of days! It's like shaving, but it's safer and the hair stays thin. It's not like shaving! But when you use razor a year you can not get back to Veet, because the hair gets thicker!

I heard Veet is a very good product to use. I haven't used it personally, but some of my friends have and they swear by it.

I've tried them all! They are painful, they stink...... they are EXPENSIVE! The best thing is to use a high quality mens electric shaver on your legs and the rest of the body. Works like a charm!

That is so true! Nair smells like some kind of crazy chemical. I used to use that stuff all the time, until I got tired of the smell.
Now I just stick with the razor and the cream. Can't go wrong with that combination.

:) I agree! Especially the smell is awful. I would also vote for the electric shaver and a good moisturizing lotion for your body. I have only tried a couple of these products from the commercials but I pretty much believe that they are all the same.

For some reason, I have strong hair or something, waxing hurts me really really badly, so I'm goin back to Veet hair removal cream. It works pretty well, but needs to be done much more often than waxing. I do like how neat and tidy a wax looks, but frankly, I cannot deal with the pain. It's been recommended to me to try a specialised waxing salon. Now I always use veet, there is a spray on one or a cream, i find both of them quite good.

I've used this. It works great for the above the lip area but doesn't work at all on my legs. My husband saw me doing it and said that the material that 'buffs' away the hair is actually sand paper.

I actually did a remove about that a couple years ago:

I don't use it now, but I did use it for a while after the review. It's certainly not for everyone, but at least it's another alternative.
