Since we have a big garden full of different flowers and colours in the village, I'm always excited when we go back there during the weekend to get away from the busy city.

I could sit and work all day at the garden while listening to soft musics. Even though I have to keep shooing the chicken away because they keep on coming to disturb me but I just enjoy it so much. My baby loves being out at the garden too because she can see more interesting thing than being indoor.

How do you guys enjoy your garden?

There are no flowers in the garden that is in the backyard. It's mostly veggies which are planted there and one only goes there to get vegetables when they're needed. There's not much fun in that unless you constantly remind yourself how much you're saving by having those veggies there.

However, there's a flower bed that cuts across the front yard. I like to sit out there and read surrounded by the buzzing of bugs and sweet smell of the flowers.

I enjoy my garden in so many ways! I get great emotional satisfaction from it in relaxing and just hanging out. I get emotional satisfaction in having things to eat and varieties, etc that I can't get in stores. I love to have the experience of doing things myself from laying the stepping stones, dirt, mulch, to planting, the whole nine yards. I enjoy my garden every day, even in the hot summer. I hang out on the patio, with the mister, that's the garden mister, not a person, lol, utility fan, and kiddy pool I can stretch out in. I enjoy the 'drudgery' of watering and / or soaking the plants in the other kiddy pool. The list goes on and on. I am currently eating my first eggplant from the garden. I am always planning or thinking of new arrangements. My current 'thing' is to keep the sun off so much, and I've had to move things around to save them, including using cheapie umbrellas from the dollar store, lol.

When the weather is nice I will sit in the garden and work on my laptop or I will just relax out there and watch the squirrels running along our fences teasing my dog as she runs along the fences barking at them. We hold BBQs a couple of times a year where we invite the family around, these always go down well. I also have a shed in my garden which I turned into a home gym and I spend an hour in there every day.

We have a bench under the trees so I just sit there for a few moments (or more) when I'm in need of peace and quiet. Good thing it's a big garden, having to sit between the veggies in the sun wouldn't have been as fun and peaceful :p There's lot of work involved in maintaining a garden but it's worth it so much, now that I think about it. Apart from fresh food and the savings we make, relaxing moments in that sea of green are another gain.

Any true garden lover should at least listen to the audio book, 'A Secret Garden' (

) This can best describe how I feel about my garden. When the little girl asks for 'a bit of earth' and then you watch her become transformed due to the group efforts made to transform this incredible hidden garden, you are inspired to get out and dig a hole or weed a bit no matter what the state of your garden. I saw the musical when I was 20 and have not been able to find it since. But when I am in the garden it is like those songs are playing and I'm transported to a special place. My mother has a garden with arbors, wisteria, and stone pathways. My garden is mostly made of ledges of potted plants that sit on a concrete patio. Whether I am in my concrete garden, or my mothers own secret garden, I walk away from them with a sense of accomplishment.

Well my garden is...more of a big estate really. We've got a huge apple orchard, a forest and a lot of flowers and vegetable gardens. Helps a lot considering what I do for a living, and what with so many kids living at our house, or just being here for a few days, so we're always making good use of our 'garden' as such!

We have a garden in the front and the back of our house, but I don't really take the time to observe the different plants in there, since I'm quite oblivious to them. I do take pictures of the flowers though when I feel like it.

We have a garden near the wood line of our house. I enjoy taking care of the plants and watering them. It always feels nice to take the time to look at the products of my hard work. I also love to cook, so once the vegetables start to fully ripen I'll be cooking all sorts of meals. It's also very peaceful to pull weeds, feed the plants, and replenish the soil.

I live in the middle of the city and don't have my own garden, but I am fortunate that my apartment borders onto a nature reserve and is therefore very quiet. I have trees and flowers outside my window, and every morning I wake up to the sound of birds. Also there is a big park nearby to relax with plenty of room for socialising and even some sport activities. I enjoy my "garden" with a whole lot of other city dwellers who like a bit of peace and quiet at the end of the day or on weekends. :)
