Painted Holiday Decorations

    It can get a little tricky using decorations you've collected over the years if last year's hot colors won't work with this year's decorating ideas. What do you do? Break out the paint. I have painted several different types of decorations with success. Another option is to change the color of the ribbon or bow on an item. That silver bell with the big blue ribbon now looks pretty sweet with a gold ribbon.

    I have never done this. I tend to really love decorations I buy so even when I pull something out for a 2nd or 3rd year I still like the look of it. I probably should have prefaced this by saying I seriously have an overabundance of Christmas decorations so I probably only put out about one third of what I own.
