Not only will proper insulation lower your heating and cooling costs, it will also help make your home more liveable, and a safer environment for your family as well. The moisture level is better contained and the air you are breathing is cleaner and healthier to inhale. Before you insulate your attic or home, make sure and check all ductwork, tv cables and plumbing infringements; leaks can increase your monthly electric bill by 30%, where adding insulation can save yo at least that much every month.

Proper insulation is able to lower your heating costs up to to 30%, depending on how large your flat is. For example, my parents own a small flat of 30 square feet and the heating bill in winter is reduced with 40%, comparing with previous years.
On the other hand, during summer, the temperature in the flat is higher wiht 1-2 degrees, which makes the air unbreathable during torrid days.

When you are installing an insulation system, make sure there are small vents on the upper walls to release some of the warm air in the room. This will also help to control the humidity. The best form of insulation should take into account summer months when temperatures are quite high by making sure that they are removable. This will reduce costs associated with constant adjustments when weather changes. To this end, I consider padding of the walls to be the best option.

Some 10 years ago, someone advised us to install foam insulation for our roof. We made an investment because the insulation was supposed to cool down our roof. The foam insulation was installed between the galvanized sheet and the ceiling. From a rough estimate our electric bill is 10% cheaper.
