Does your state offer tax free shopping for back to school supplies? It can be a good way to get office supplies cheaply as well. These would include sticky notes, Pens, pencils, notebooks and anything you might use around your home office. Our tax free back to school shopping is over with now, but in the past I have been able to replenish my office supplies with some back to school tax free savings.

I live in Texas and we usually have tax free weekend in the month of August. I didn't shop at all during tax free weekend this year. Even though I missed it this is a nice way to save some money, especially if the store is also having a really good sale.

We don't have tax cuts on school supplies but during the school-year opening, the government is encouraging traders to sell school supplies at a discount. For motivation, vendors are allowed to sell on the sidewalks (it is illegal) during that period so the public can have an alternative for discounted school supplies.
