I have been searching online for ideas to save my wood floors from the snow and salt that are tracked in The House. The floors can look pretty bad and I am sweeping and wiping them at least twice a day. This is what I would like to cut down on. I lucked up and found one of those pieces that goes under the carpet to keep it from sliding and just laid it down. It's easier to pick it up and shake the salt off.

I just watched a video today that stated that the salt can be like sandpaper to wood floors if not cleaned up right away. There was a homemade cleaning solution too but that would be futile as long as the salt is needed.

If you're dealing with this kind of problem (or not) I'm open to other suggestions.
