I was also hopping to get tips on which perennials to plant. The area gets about half a day of sun and the dirt is pretty healthy. There is a slug issue, but that's another story.
I’m sure all of us have experienced having a broken or old furniture that needs to be repaired. We also used to do that. However, don’t bother for repairs when the furniture is pretty old. We learned of the cost of repairs when we did some computations and came up with the decision that it is better to buy a new furniture than have the old one repaired. Although the cost of repair vis-a-vis the new is just 20% to 30%, it’s still a substantial amount considering that the furniture remains old...

For those with vegetable and fruits in their garden, what do you do with the excess harvest? We usually give them away to neighbors in need and sometimes to relatives. But as per the advice of a colleague, what we do now with the excess harvest is to preserve it. Red pepper can be added to the bottle of vinegar. It will last long and will give the vinegar a hot flavor. Papaya, carrots and onions can be pickled in a simple preparation of vinegar, garlic and sugar. Tomatoes which fruit heavily...

Would you like to have a garden like the painter, Claude Monet had in Giverny France with lots of flowers or do you just grow vegetables in your garden? I have not been to Giverny to see his garden but would like to go someday and see his gardens and walk around the small village as well. I have taken a virtual vacation to this town though and it seems quite touristy -but also it seems to be a very popular destination for even people that go to Paris because its about 40 miles from there....

I have this doubt in mind for quite long now. I read a few articles on this and none of them actually give a concrete answer to my query. As you know nowadays we started realizing the bad effects of plastic on us and trying to minimize its use. In many places there are strict laws in place to cut down / stop its usage.

But is it healthy to grow vegetables and other plants on plastic containers? What I came to know from my reading is that it doesn’t have any effect on the plants we...
But now I don´t have to hope my local store has what I want, instead I have a huge online catelog to choose from. And of course if you are getting guaranteed heirlooms, it...
