I haven't, because I find the idea ridiculous. Especially for the animals that are kept indoors. I guess it would make some sense if an animal has lost fur/feathers due to some type of disease, just so they wouldn't be cold, but...

My pets are all litter trained, and when I was just introducing to them the litter box, there was soil in it so that they could cover their pee and poo. But eventually, when they got used to it, they still pee and poo in the basin when I don't put soil in there anymore. I think that's the better option as well if you want to examine their pee or poo for blood, worms, consistency, etc. So I would like to ask fellow cat owners if you are willing to forgo cat soil or sand in your cat's litter...

Does anyone have any ideas what OTC petfoods to use for cat that develops UTI's? My cat has been on this prescription food for about a year..the only problem is that it is very expensive. A 7.7 pound bag runs about 30.00 a month. I tried to ask the vets office and they weren't much help. I read some discussions online about it, and they recommended a few different brands that cost even more than the Royal Canin I am using. I guess a good quality wet food grain free would be good. Can anybody...

I know dogs are carnivores in the wild but domesticated dogs had been omnivores for centuries. Most of my dogs die in 10 years. From what I know dogs have the average lifespan of 13. Recently I had seen videos about dogs who are like 25 years old. There is even a 30 year old dog. I heard that dogs with ovo-vegetarian diets lives longer. For sure giving a dog a vegan diet will make them malnourished from having protein, fats and other nourishment you can get from meat but eggs can actually...

I read an article the other day about meat sawdust as alternative food for pets. Sawdust is basically the tiny pieces of meat that gets stuck on the slicer. They are clean, but they won't be sold to humans anymore for their consumption. I tried buying at the grocery store yesterday, and it was $1 per kilo. I boiled it, and my cats tolerated it. They didn't finish everything though. On the other hand, our dogs loved it.
Have you tried this before?

I have two dogs who I love dearly and one of the issues that really strikes fear in me is the possibility they could get lung worm as it can be fatal. For this reason I buy them a flea and tick preparation from the vet which also prevents lung worm. I'm in the UK so I don't know if it is sold in other countries but it is called Advocate.

For all you dog lovers out there do you know about lung worm and do you protect your dogs against it?
