Does it save money to hire someone or use some self-service thing - or are you better off to simply get some soap at home and just wash your ride? Myself, I've always noticed that car washes have always been a business out there. However, some of them, like ones hiring car washers, seems silly to me, but I suppose it does provide jobs for people.

We are lucky to have a housemaid who can do the odd jobs at home. Carwash here is not really expensive but you have to spend time in waiting for your car to be done. I bought a car shampoo and we have a garden hose that makes it easier to soap and rinse the car. The only problem left is to wipe it dry which our housemaid does for me. We wash the car twice a week unless it is rainy season the car gets dirty every day.

Obviously, that's the cheapest option and the one I usually use. However, though, just cause the outside is clean doesn't mean the inside is. In that case, interior cleaning is another big topic.

Thankfully my car is quite small so it doesn't take that long to wash. I buy a special wash and wax product so that I can wash it and it coats my car with a protective finish. You just have to be careful not to get it on the windows or it just smears so that you can't see out! I have never used a car wash and always clean the inside of my car too.

However I know someone who has a company car and she has to have hers valeted regularly to keep it in good condition so it always smells like a new car when she has it done. A little pricey but worth it.

I do washing as and when required by myself and take my car to a garage when a full service is due. I don't think it's worth paying a hefty sum just because they will use a pressure pipe to clean bottom of your car. I can do that myself using a hosepipe and a proper nozzle myself. Then you do not have to go for special car wash powders but any laundry powder is okay for the job. I have a wax polish which I use with a piece of cloth or sponge.

Hiring a specialist in washing cars has to do with how busy you are at home and whether there are other things that are going to take much of your time when it comes to washing your car by yourself. So, I would wash it by myself, if I'm less busy and got nothing much doing or in some cases, I could take it to specialist to wash it when I have other things doing.

When I had my car, I go to my service station with a fill up and a free car wash, so I got my car washed free all the time. My car was either mid size or small, but I don't wash my car so the muscles are not used to washing cars. I love my fill up and free car wash! It was so easy to have a clean car when I get a fill up of gas. :) You can't beat free!:p

I will always go tot he car wash there are about 30+ car washes in a 25-mile radius from me and they are all reasonable. The most expensive car wash that I know of is $10.00 for a regular wash and its the best car wash in town. The other car washes range from $2.99 to $5.99 and it sure beats spending an hour washing your car.

usually, I wash my vehicle myself. This saves a lot of money. I may not be able to clean my vechile like a professional car washer, however, as long as I save money, I don't care much. Furthermore, by doing it myself, I can also get a good exercise.

Honestly doing it yourself seems like a better option. I don't know how much an average car wash cost but I would say do it yourself is a bit more cheaper and convenient depending on what type of supplies you have available at your house and how dirty your car is. Most of the time it's nothing a hose, spong and some soap could fix.

I feel it is better to wash your own car. The reason should not be about saving only but you like/ love your car and you know it very well. You will also be doing some exercises while moving around your car and washing it. You can also wash your car with a family member and this will help you two to bond.

It is also good to use car washing services once in a while. But doing it manually yourself is better.

I live in a house with a small yard and I usually wash my car by myself, and I save a lot of money because I would need to wash my car twice a week and if I would take my car to a wash service I would pay 20 dollars for a week.
I prefer to wash it myself!
