In this week's "dash," (a little newsletter included in my Wednesday

    ), I learned a few 'supersaver'-tactics:
    1. Leave the Kids at Home - Statistics show that bringing the kids when you shop regularly adds about 40% to your bill.
    2. Shop Late - to get rid of things that won't keep, stores regularly lower the prices of those items right before close. Also, it's less-crowded & so you won't buy so much (shoppers like to linger in groups).
    3. Wear Headphones (Listening to Quick Music) - It'll speed up your shopping, helping you spend less (which is why many stores play slow music over the loudspeakers)

I also learned that (according to an NPD analysis of America's eating-habits on Tax Day 2009-thru-2013) I will eat cake on April 15/

Those are some great tips there. I've had to shop late once and had to grab only the items I needed.

Shopping during regular hours permits one to look at items that might interest you and which you buy if you have enough money in your wallet. However when you've got no time to waste, you'll end up saving money without even trying too hard.
