I've tried it a few times and would really like to start incorporating it more into my diet as opposed to regular milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, but the Almond Milk almost always seems to be easier on my stomach and I believe it lasts longer than regular milk (Although I could be wrong on that). What I do like is the fact that you can store it as a non-perishable until you need it, which helps save on the budget as you can stock up when a sale is running.

As an alternative to normal cow milk, I only drink soy milk now and then but luckily I am not lactose intolerant so mostly I just drink normal milk. It have some health issues regarding my stomach, acidic reflux, and I pretty much drink a lot of milk nowadays just to counter the acidity. I never tried almond milk, I don't usually find it in markets near me or maybe I just didn't look well enough but anyway, normal brand cow milk is what I usually consume and its not expensive either so no reason not to.

I am allergic to cow's milk. I love goat's milk, but almond milk is considerably less expensive. Far more people are allergic to cow's milk than are lactose intolerant. Lactose free cow's milk tends to be less allergenic, but cow's milk allergies are implicated in a multitude of diseases, including diabetes and arthritis and Chron's disease. Many forms of milk allergy are difficult to diagnose. A skin test only picks up a small percent of cases. Many people are misdiagnosed, especially by non-specialists. Try goat's milk. A few people are also allergic to goat's milk, but very few. I enjoy Almond Breeze by Blue Diamond.

I really like the health benefits of almond milk. It's much easier on my stomach. I prefer to make my own at home to avoid the additives and preservatives in the store bought kind. It's really easy to find on the internet if you're interested!

Sadly I didn't enjoy the flavor of the almond milk, I could not even finish the package. I have a package of rice milk now at home, haven't been able to try it yet, but I really want an alternative to juice because I feel there's too much sugar in it and cow milk is simply not for me.

Have you tried soy milk at all? I tried a few brands and didn't think that I liked it much at all, but I decided to give Zen soy a try and it's actually not bad. No weird aftertaste that some of the other types had. Just keep looking around and trying things, I'm sure you'll find the right alternative for you.

If you have a food processor, almost milk is pretty easy to make. There are lots of recipes online for different ways to flavor or sweeten it too. I don't have one so I haven't been able to try this but it sounds very simple. Just mixing almonds with water in the food processor and straining out the leftover pulp. I've seen recipes where you sweeten with stevia, so there are no extra calories or sugar added.

I've tried a few brands, most of the available brands to be honest, I really made the effort to drink it, but never got to like it. I drank it a few times, even with cereals, but that flavor was starting to make me sick so I had to quit.

I've never tried almond milk, I have no problems drinking regular cow milk and I actively dislike soy milk, do you think it's worth it for me to try almond milk?
Depending on what it tastes like I'm a bit afraid I won't enjoy it, just like soy milk, but reading so many good things here is making me consider it...

I don't think it's worth it for you at all Strykstar because if you drink cow milk and you're happy with it, why would you change? I tried rice milk as well and I can't say I loved it, so for now I am sticking with juices as replacement for milk.

I tried soy almond milk because I didn't want to consume normal cow milk, due to the hormones that I would be ingesting though drinking it. But when I finally tried this soy hazelnut flavored almond milk it was okay. But it had this awful sharp strange after taste, that I just could not handle or cope with. So I gave it to my sister and she had it. I have gone back to cow milk for now. But I am hoping that I will soon find another solution.

Now you got me really confused Dreek, you tried soy milk or almond milk, or is it soy milk with almond flavor? (never even knew that this existed). I never tried hazelnut milk, and even the almond milk is just water added to the almonds, so it doesn't taste too good.

You know, I really like almond milk. And it's a great source of calcium, to boot. The downsides, though, are that it is, like Peni says, it's wayyy expensive, and then also it has alot of sugar to make it sweeter. Does anybody know of almond "milk" (isn't it actually a juice, though? I guess "almond juice" doesn't sound too appealing lol) that is less altered, with no added sugar or other junk?

The word is that soy also messes with your hormone levels; it increases estrogen. They put soy-this or soy-that in just about everything, so it's hard to avoid all of it.

I don't drink cow's milk because I am vegan. I've had Alpro almond milk and I really like it as well! It's very expensive in my country too. It used to not be as expensive when inflation was down, but now that it is up, the price has doubled from what it used to be. It really has a delicious taste and the sugar levels are not as high as some other brands that I have seen imported here. Due to the high price, my go to milk is soy milk and the one that I use that we have here is non GMO, which is always a plus.

Okay, so now I am not so sure? Lmaooo! I have just asked my older sister, and she said that it was actually Soya milk. But it was almond/hazelnut flavor. It was the weirdest thing that I have ever tasted. Well, it had on of the strangest most unbearable aftertastes that I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. I couldn't wait to give it away and would have given it away to a stranger if my sister had not been so willing to take it.

Haha, so soy milk with hazelnut flavor? That has to be something... Either cases, I was not convinced by these alternative milks I've tried, so I am investigating juice machines to replace my package juices, fighting for a healthier life. ;)

You should all be aware that soy products contain artificial hormones similar to estrogen. Companies selling soy products will tell you that it is no problem. Only a few men using soy products grow breasts, and loss of fertility is only a problem for some men. Increases in breast cancer is not too bad. No such problems with almond "milk".

Yeah, soy is not 100% good as well like you mention thomas, but I guess that almond "Milk" carries no issues because it's just water and almonds... :) Either cases, as long as we don't drink big quantities of soy milk, I think we are fine.

I've drank it a few times, it's super good at taste (at least from my point of view), but as you said, it's pretty expensive like it would be gold in it. It isn't worth it to drink it regularly unless you're super rich, but using it as a speciality for rare occasions might be ok.
