I am about to start looking into upgrading my iPad 2 because the screen shattered, but am unsure if I should wait for the iPad mini or not. Honestly I really didn't see anything about the iPad 3 worth buying it instead of continuing to use my iPad 2 at the time and am now wondering if the iPad mini will really have anything about it that would be worth the downgrade in screen size besides the talked about cheaper price.
If you don't think it's worth it, then for you at least it isn't. I personally, don't see anything worth the change over, but I have come to see this as standard Apple operating procedure. They have very little to offer half the time and so they rely on gimmicks to make up the difference.
I used to be completely devoted to Apple and would by no other brand. That was until the android devices came on the market, so I have the advantage of comparing the two. The ipad, in my opinion, is oversold and overpriced. The android devices do everything the ipad does and more, with a smooth and fast interface. And the price won't break you.
My friend don't expect much from Apple. Just ask yourself what is so new in i Phone 5 that worthed all that hype? Go for what is affordable and relaxed like Android tabs or pads!
Wait for the Nexus 10. Gonna be beast! Beats Apple's main selling point too, the screen! And it will be cheaper.
I personally wouldn't say that it is worth it to be getting the iPad mini at all, considering that you have already experienced using the iPad 2. If you're hoping for the mini to be outperforming the iPad 2, you will be surprised to hear that it actually uses the same A5 chip though it is 2 generations ahead of it. Besides the downsize in the screen, you should also note that the mini does not come with a retina display, so for activities such as video streaming, the quality of the images will definitely suffer. While it is your choice to decide if getting the mini is worth getting, I thought you should at least be made known to these downsides of the device.
IPads and other tablets are not worth it period. They don't do much for you and from my research they have a low amount of GBs in a hard drive. I'd personally rather get a notebook that is small but has all the functions of a standard computer. So the iPad Mini won't be worth it.
If you already have an iPad, why get a smaller iPad which has similar features? I'd recommend getting a 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, a Nexus 10 or the new Samsung Galaxy Note II. The iPad mini is a good device and has received some great reviews. However, I think it does not bring any unique features to the table aside from its smaller frame.
I'm not a fan of Apple products. I think Samsung products are the way to go. Same benefits with cheaper price.
I personally have the iPad mini and I love it. Albeit a bit expensive, the portability factor that goes into the smaller size of the tablet really helps out for me as a college student who constantly has to walk around campus. Plus, from what I gather, the processing power is generally the same in both iPad's. I would go for the Mini.
It seems so pointless to me, Its like a ebook reader, WHy not get an Itouch? Lol just a bit smaller... Seems like a waste of money to me
To me, the iPad Mini is to the iPad, as the iPad was to the iPod Touch... The exact same thing, just a different size. I know they a pushing it's uniqueness, however in my eyes it's not really any different from the iPad. Honestly, it is all about your personal preference, and your uses of the device. If you like to play HD games or watch movies with it, then I'd suggest the iPad. Maybe you want an eBook reader, but the option to do more if you ever need it? iPad Mini, I guess. And if you want a device that you can take everywhere with you, to become your companion, and provide information and entertainment on the go, then I'd go with the iPod Touch.
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple doesn't drop the price the new Ipad Mini long before they make their next iPad release. A lot of people made a stink about the high price of the mini compared to the iPad -- so much so that their PR department went on the defensive and started defending and explaining the value, development costs, etc. on the first day it became available. (This was a first for them). Personally, I would get an android device or just wait for the next iPad.
