PC is more cost-effective for me. Low maintenance cost and based on experience, they last longer. I had a laptop and a netbook but they just took I think 2 years only. So, I trust now the PC. Go ahead and experiment by turning on your PC and laptops at the same time 24 hours a day and you'll see what I'm talking about. I do not turn my computer off because I always download movies at night but I can still totally rely on it.

The only reason I bought a laptop was its mobility and certainly not the cost efficiency compared to a PC. As far as I know it is true that a laptop doesn't consume as much electricity as a PC, but the initial cost to purchase a laptop is way bigger.
