What is the best power strip on the market to save money? I need an affordable one that will only use what it needs to. I also need it to surge protection. Can anyone recommend anything? Is there such thing as a smart power strip? What are the benefits?
I find that many of these power strips/surge protectors mostly a not very effective in controlling a power surge. Sometimes these protectors are ineffective in stopping the surge and the equipment it is supposed to protect is damaged anyway and sometimes the protector is burnt to uselessness. In my country, there are companies here that make some special types of protectors and they produce two types: One type specifically for refrigerators and another type for general use.They have had to to do this because it was found that the imported ones with all the accompanying accreditations are mostly ineffective in guarding against possible damages which may result from heavy power surges.
