Yes, unless you really love to gamble, it's waste time and money. Some people pay to do sports, others pay to play games, other play to gamble, it's just the way I see gambling, it's no way to make money, it's just a way to lose it or spend it.

I think it's interesting that you compare it to doing sports, you mean when you pay for a field to do a match with friends or something, right?
At least with sports you get a bit healthier from it, with gambling you end up with a lighter wallet, but you have a lot of fun in the meantime.

Yes, I am interested in online betting. I have started to do a bit of research on horse betting, which I would like to try out soon. I am definitely not a gambler, it's just that I get these sudden hunches that urge me to go and buy a scratch ticket or fill out a lottery ticket, and in most instances I have won small sums. My biggest winning was $250. I invested $4 in the ticket that got me the price. I just like to act on that inner voice. Many times I knew a certain horse would win in a race simply by hearing its name.

Well at the end of the day, gambling is still gambling. But there are a few sites which allow for a greater likelihood for the user to have a decent rate of wins to loses. The house will always have the greater chance of winning, no matter where you go obviously, but some sites offer a 49% win/lose ratio, which is about as decent as you're ever going to get. And using some methods, you can consistently make money but it is still gambling and you could lose it all.

Your best bet really is to make some free bets, or just use a cryptocurrency betting site, using the many free cryptocurrency faucets to get your betting bank so that you're not losing 'real money' if you lose.

That's pretty much it yes, I see gambling as a way of entertainment more than as a way of making money, you pay to be entertained and you just might get lucky enough to make some money, but let's face it, the odds are against you. :)

I am too afraid to bet! I don't even like going to the casino because I am too money conscious to spend my money on gambling lol I guess if you were interested in it and made sure that you never went over a certain spending amount, it could work.

There's a few good sites out there, but US players do have to be wary. It's still not exactly legal to bet in the US, although they are starting to change the laws in a few places.

As far as betting strategy goes, one way to go about doing so is to find an online betting capper who posts all their picks. That way, you know if they have a strong winning % or not with their picks. It takes some of the "gambling" aspect out of it.

It's still a waste then. Yeah I'm very anti-gamble since my father lost the house I grew up in that way. The closest I came was the scratch off on App Trailers that costed points and I even felt bad about that when I lost. I guess that's also why I don't find it entertaining. I would never win since I'm a big jinx.
It's alright if you have money to blow and you know your limits though. I'm just saying I would never do it not even once. I don't like taking risks with money period. That includes the stock market.

Ouch, so that is a serious addiction Nick, losing the house is pretty much as far as one can go gambling. I think the stock market might be different, but I do get the point, basically you have your money on something that on the next day can be worthless, it's really risky.

Yeah and he still would gamble after that. Seeing by the loans he has, I don't doubt that the addiction was still there recently.
Also the stock market probably is different as I understand in life sometimes you have to take risks but you definitely have to be extremely knowledgeable before you invest your money.

I have some close relatives who have done a lot of gambling online and gone bankrupt in the process. it affects not only the one doing it but also his/her close ones when he/she starts losing. So yeah gamble only if you can afford to lose all the money, whether it's online or offline does not matter much.

That's the golden rule of gambling I think, only gamble what you are willing to lose. When you sit down to gamble, you should be comfortable with possibility of losing all of the money you are putting down; otherwise you will end up chasing your losses and that's a no winning situation.

Yep, probably the biggest rule is to treat gambling as "fun" and something to do on the side and not something you have to rely on for income. That's just asking for trouble and is a big slippery slope. If you start thinking "Oh, I'll win my money back on the next one" then you know you're going down a dangerous path.

I've had some minor success with online betting, but I certainly don't want to up the stakes i'm betting at. For me, at least right now, it's just something fun to do and adds a little more excitement to sports I'd already be watching.

I was such a poor gambler in my three day of it lol, I wasn't doing it for the fun, but for the money and they money I had in was so small I invested all and lose it all after a surprise defeat in a tennis match. I lost my 20€ and I swore never again to lose my money that way!!

I would not try it, you only make money if you really know what you are doing. I have some friends and family members who are very knowledgeable about sports and they hardly win enough to cover the money they lose. If you're looking for a way to make money then don't even look at betting sites.

Absolutely, don't get into betting if your goal is making money, your goal has to be to have some fun, if you make some money, all the better but that can't be the only goal.
Sometimes the more you know about sports the harder it is to bet on it, you start over-thinking it and only bet on sure things that give no profit.

I run into this problem all the time. I'm really big into statistics and I out-think myself most of the time. Sadly enough, I often just go with my original gut feeling I made after looking at a match-up for 15 seconds. Once I realized I was doing so, I decided just to change my philosophy and just have fun with what I was doing

It's really hard lol, we can go for the logic and follow the statistics for less money or follow our instincts and go for the bigger pot, it's always a gamble though, it's not certain and in my case it went sour because I lost the fruit of my hours work...
