@Working Buck A thousand dollars a night? Wow! Two nights at a hotel like that could already buy me a used car in my place. 30 dollars a night is a fair deal to me. I must save a lot to go there LOL!
@Working Buck It's pretty ridiculous but rich folk from other countries are willing to pay that amount, it seems since they're not out of business yet. I also recommend you visit a hotel where the breakfast is included because most hotels have breakfast included. That's how you can tell it's a good one. The breakfast isn't bad either. They Let you grab 3 normal-sized plates and serve yourself. One for food, another for fruit, and another for dessert. It's not really a breakfast, actually. More like a dinner, haha. I think it's a good deal.
Here in my place, a 50 dollar room won't come with a free breakfast. I do think it's much cheaper in your place. I f I do get anything aside from a room for 50 dollars then it's all good.
You also gain internet access and I believe you also gain access to their pool. You can usually find hotels when getting to Cancun but I strongly suggest reserving and especially during holidays. Plus, you can get more information online and all the things that the package includes. If you purchase online, you can even get a discount.
I think for me there is no problem about that if you are eating a lot particularly during New Year's Eve as you have mentioned. You did eat much for such occasion. Since it was only done on that time. If you do eat excessively every day that would, of course, pose a big problem not only for the money spent for the foods but to your health. Others are worrying to reduce themselves for they are obese. Now yours is to worry for the food you want to eat with less expenses. Better worry about your health for that matter.
Thanks a lot for the advice, it would really help a lot when it comes to saving. But as far as price is concerned, with the price that you said and they are offering a lot of freebies, it's way cheaper than what they offer around here.
When I was younger I was a big eater I find out the best way to get yourself well fed with less expense is to prepare your food at home. You get to come up with larger quantities of food if you buy the raw foods and prepare them yourself at home. This is easily an economic way to avoid spending excessively if you must eat heavily.
Most things are cheaper here than in the USA or in European countries. In the USA, one-liter water bottles cost you around 2.00 to 2.50 dollars in California while here, they cost around .30 cents. I've known of people that travel to Tijuana to stock up on tons of water bottles and maybe sell them back in the USA. You must also know what kinds of food fill you up faster such as rice, bread, and tortillas. When there aren't many meats, we usually make large amounts of rice to fill ourselves. We sometimes cut the meat up and mix it with the rice as well.
@TheKnight I like the idea of selling bottled water. Well some things are cheap here but not the hotels and some food. Local brandy is a bit cheap though, you can buy a liter for around a dollar and fifty cents. Same reason why there are a lot of drunkards in the streets once it goes dark.
@Working Buck 1.50 dollars is still a lot here for a liter of beer. That's usually the price of a 2-liter bottle. I don't drink anyway. Selling bottled water is mostly only good if your city is close to the border of a cheaper country. That way, you can just drive there and stock up on whatever you're selling easily. You can sell bottled water if you find a great deal in a store such as having a store ordering too much of something. When you see that, buy as many as possible. I did that with soap once.
@TheKnight I won't be able to do that since most things here have the same price even if you go miles away. Not unless if I would buy vegetables in Baguio City and sell them in the marketplace here. But I would be needing lots of money for that plus a lot of trucks if I want to earn a bit.
I usually eat a lot too (and when I say "a lot", it's really "a lot" ) . But I really don't mind spending a lot of money on food as long as I eat well and with quality (because of these aspects I don't give up). Eating is undoubtedly one of the greatest pleasures of life (at least for me, or course ).
