Having to choose between brand and affordability varies. Not all companies are the same so once I know a company produces good quality, I'm more likely to spend on that brand. I want to be sure that what I buy doesn't break down on me too fast. Then I would have to spend money buying the same thing multiple times. No matter the brand or price, I want the product to be worth spending money on.
I'm guilty of spending over budget for brand names. I'm not superficial, I don't pay for the name. I find that the more the more expensive products last longer and are superior to store brands. I prefer spending a large amount at once than a small amount every week or so. I find it saves money in the long run.
