I've had an old outdated TV for about 14 years now and I feel its time that we got a new one. I'm looking into all these HDTVs and I found one for $119 +tax = $150, what do you think about that price?

The TV is 19 inches wide (perfect for my room) and it's brand is Insignia. I've never heard of this brand and I'm looking for advice. I read some of the reviews for this TV and it has an 86% rating.

I've never heard of that brand either but I think the price is reasonable. One thing I know about most TVs is that any brand works just fine the only difference is some will have a longer life than others. As for the reviews you mentioned, you should read between the lines because at times sellers pay people to write positive reviews for their products.

The best feedback you'd get is from someone you know who's used the Insignia TV before. Oh, I was forgetting. Find out where the TV was made. The country of origin may give you a good idea about it's quality. If it's China, run away and never look back.

Hmm, well I looked it up and the manufacturer is either LG or Samsung, I think its pretty good because I have products from both these companies and I'm very pleased with them. I want the television for my bedroom, so I'm not looking for some sort of super high quality television, just something to watch my blu rays on lol. I looked up some reviews for the tv and it has an 86% satisfaction rating, which I would say is great, that's an A rating. The only complaint was that it was small, which I really don't see it as an issue because I'm looking for this size in the first place xD

Thank you for your answer :)

I've never heard of this brand before, and also for myself a 19 inch would be small. I think for your room it's ideal for a TV to be 24 or 29 inches! I don't have a TV in my bedroom, so at the beginning of this year I caved in and got a 32 inch Smart TV for the living room, as my previous one was also an old box TV! I would advise looking up online about this brand quality! I got a Samsung, which is pretty trustworthy. It may be worth it paying a bit more for a better brand!

I'd say go for it, especially if you can get a good enough warrantee for it. I think unknown brands are pretty hit and miss at this point and there are only a handful ones in that market that have been around long enough to have some semblance of dependability, but even then it's not guaranteed - at least not in the way major brands are. It may give out early, but in most cases, you'd at least have gotten your money's worth by the time that happens when it comes to these brands, unless you are really unlucky and get a brand that is really sub-par, so still do try to look up more reviews from other sources.
