We have an ice cream maker ball. It's basketball sized and weighs about 15-16 pounds when full of ice and ingredients. For the ice cream to be fully prepared, we have to shake it, toss it, or kick it around for about 45 minutes. It's like passing a weighted medicine ball so in order to get our ice cream, we have to exercise a little. There's more effort involved than in the electric makers but it's kinda fun and the ice cream tastes really good. Best part? It only cost around $25.

I wouldn't bother with them personally, my friends have purchased them over the years and after one or two times of making ice cream they ended up on the shelf collecting dust. One of the big problems is that it ends up costing more to make the ice cream home made than it does to simply buy a high quality ice cream in the store. By the time you purchase heavy cream, the salt which some machines require, and extra ice if you don't have enough, along with the fresh fruit or whatever you plan on using to flavor it, you could blow close to $20 right there, if not more.

Plus, the end result really isn't much different or better than what you would get from a high quality store bought/pre-made ice cream. In fact, some ice cream makers use special techniques which are more time consuming to get an even better product - one I read about hard boils the eggs she uses in her recipe, something to do with the hard boiled egg yolks producing a smoother ice cream.

I'm not a big ice cream eater so I wouldn't invest in a maker. If I want some ice cream then I simply go to the store and splurge on what I want. Since I rarely buy ice cream as it is I don't mind spending money on a high quality brand.

It's difficult to say, I get it would rely on upon how offen you eat frozen yogurt, I have considered at one time another on the grounds that I think custom made dessert tastes the best, we used to make when we were children however utilizing the old dessert creators where you would need to be turning it for two or three hours, that we obviously alternated on, yet was the best dessert. To answer your inquiry I would say on the off chance that you purchase a great deal of dessert then better believe it, in light of the fact that over the long haul you would spare cash, however in the event that you don't purchase a considerable measure, then perhaps not.
