I usually borrow books unless it's one I am sure to read more then once. To be honest I currently don't own a single book, if I ever buy one I tend to give them away right after. I am not a reader so if I need to read for school or anything else the library is usually my option. I buy books when they are super discounted read them twice and give them away.
I used to have a huge collection of books but I've pared it down to my great favorites that I'd like to reread and those that I absolutely like to have on my shelf. These books were either bought new or from a thrift store or passed from my father. Lately, however, I've been downloading free ebooks from the Playstore and these include classics that are being sold in bookstores at a hefty price. That satisfies my need to read and save at the same time. I love android version books that make me feel like I'm leafing over real books.
I have mostly borrowed books whether for educational purpose or just recreational. However, when I know that it is going to be an asset worth having I don't hesitate to buy.
I do both. But most of the times I buy books. I also know a shops that sell old books and they got a nice collection of novels mostly on fiction and sci-fi. New books are very costly here even though its demand is diminishing due to digital media. But nowadays I hardly find time to read books as I spend most of my time on Internet. I usually read books on weekends but not much due to lack of time.
That depends. If my friend has the book and he is willing to give it to me, I always borrow books. But if none of my friends have it I either go to the library or buy the book, because I love keeping books at my home library.
If it's a text book I need to write in, I either buy it or borrow it and write notes about it. If it's just to read it, I go to the library and borrow/check one out if I have to. Most of the time, I just read it at the library. I usually don't like reading books twice so buying it doesn't really do me any good. Borrowing is free for the most part and it corresponds with my reading habits well.
Most of the time, I buy books. I burrow only when I cannot find the book or the book is heavily priced, or I don't have budget for the book. If I buy the books, I will have to ownership and I can read it when ever I want. However, I will have to return the book I burrowed, I cannot own it.
