Definitely for. I buy second hand clothes for my children sometimes too. It saves money. I also get given other people's cast offs and I pass my children's clothes on to my sister for her children.
I have had no issues with buying second hand clothes! In fact, I enjoy it. I can get some really good clothes for WAY cheaper than if I were to be the first owner. Many people don't like it but as long as you wash the clothes I don't see any issues with it.
I absolutely love second hand stores as long as they are well organized. The Goodwill can have some great second hand items but the issue I have, at least with the ones in my area, is how messy and unorganized they usually are. There was a store that used to be right around the corner from my place called Savers (in some cities I think it's called Value Village) I would love going in there and would enjoy the music they played as I shopped. I would find sweaters, blouses and even regular t-shirts that were barely worn and the price was unbeatable. I really miss that store but look forward to finding a new second hand store sometime soon so I can get back to buying second hand!
I'm in favor of buying secondhand clothes, especially since you can find some really unique items that they don't sell at the mall. You can also afford better brands and higher quality when you buy secondhand. Secondhand doesn't always apply because I've sometimes found brand new clothes with tags at thrift stores that were donated simply because someone had too much unused stuff in their closet.
I'm definitely for buying second hand clothing, it's much cheaper and often it's the same quality. When you hear second hand you might think it's incredibly worn out clothes but that's not the case at all.
Before I went into the Salvation Army to see what they had to offer for myself, I had an entirely different definition of what constitutes as second hand clothing. Seriously, they have some stuff in there that still has the tags on, it's ridiculous what people throw away. It's not just for hipsters either, If you're looking to add to your dress wardrobe and you're tight on cash, I highly recommend purchasing a suit from the Salvation Army. I found a Brooks Brothers Suit that retailed somewhere close to a thousand dollars when I looked it up online. I took it to the tailor and paid 25 dollars to have it adjusted and I couldn't be happier with it. Seriously, if you're low on cash and looking for clothes to do job interviews, or whatever, if you just wanna look fresh and change things up a bit, go check out what they have.
I am extremely against it. Like i said in another thread. Buying second hand clothes are not worth it anymore. Simply because major retail stores have stepped up their effort to make their clothing products more affordable. Good Will stores are nothing but a rip off these days. They charge the same price as a regular retail store for inferior products. That is just unacceptable. Do your self a favor, and go to Walmart, Kmart, and Big Lots. Those stores have amazing prices on new products.
I love buying things second-hand. I have had pretty good luck at a nearby Goodwill store, and a new ladies consignment store just opened up in my town and I'm excited to check it out. I tend to be pretty rough on my clothes so I have a hard time justifying new prices on them, especially shirts. I also buy used clothing for my children, though it can be difficult because it seems like there are fewer used items for boys available.
