I haven't read a good travel book, or any travel book, in ages! Has anyone got some good recommendations?

My go-to writers have always been Paul Theroux or Dervla Mulcahy, but I kinda feel like reading something different for a change to get the synapses firing again :)

    What's everyone reading?

I would highly recommend 1,000 Places to See Before You Die by Patricia Schultz. It's a thick 1,200-page book that features the best destinations worldwide as perceived by the author. If you will be bringing it with you as a leisurely read, then perhaps it would be better to get the digital edition, since it is quite heavy, even the softbound version. It is a good read for general travel information.
