Car shopping is stressful to me. I feel very overwhelmed by all the different terminology they use for pricing the care and in trying to understand all the stats in the car. Then there is the negotiation process. Why is buying a car so complicate? Why don't they just price cars and retail it like any other object you buy at a store. If you want upgrades, then you can pay additional set prices for it. I guess this concept would put a lot of dealers out of business and car salesmen would be out of jobs. I think that the process of buying a care could be simplified like buying a high end object such as a computer, if society really wanted to do it.
I think it could be that they want to confuse the customer, by not making it completely obvious what some specs mean and how certain things affect the performance of the car, it is easier for them to market more and more features, which means we pay more and more, because we think it must be worth it since it seems like it makes the car better. And of course more isn't always better.
Yes, it's definitely a great idea to do some research foirst so you know exactly what you want and how much you can expect to pay. Traipsing around dealerships is a complete drag and the salesmen can get very annoying. Have you ever looked on eBay Motors at all? Sometimes, there are some fantastic bargains to be had here.
