Talk about law of attraction. After commenting in this thread yesterday, an incident happened to me where the cashier tried to stiff me out of the correct change, last night. Well, it wasn't so much a cashier as it was the delivery lady. I ended up ordering Chinese food last night, and the lady who delivered the food did not have the correct change. She let me know that she didn't have it, and then just continued to talk as though everything was fine. People are so rude.
Yes they are! I know these things happen sometimes. And I hate to assume its a scam to keep your change. But so many people are so shiesty now that they make it impossible to trust anyone. If its a genuine mistake I let them have it. If I get the idea it's a scam you can bet I'm going to stand there and wait for my money.
This reminds me of the movie Ms.Doubtfire. You know that scene with the Valentine's delivery service? The same thing happened! That was not fair for you at all, did you have to tip them? I wonder if they do that so that they can gain back that money for gas. This is why I don't order take out, most of them require exact change, and if you don't have that exact change, you can end up losing $1-$4 per delivery, so if you add that up, you can probably buy a life time supply of donuts!
I ordered from them again tonight, and the same delivery lady returned, and did not so much as offer to give me the money that she supposedly was short on last time. I mean, I know that it was only a small amount - ten pence to be exact. But I don't have a lot of money as it is. Every little bit helps, and ten pence could be the difference between me being able to buy something, and not being able to. The next time that they send her, I'm going to ask for it. It is awkward, because she and I have spoken when she has delivered food before, and she appears to have gotten way too comfortable, to where she feels she can stiff me out of money.
@missbishi What type of hand scanner do you use? That sounds like something I'd be interested in. I'd equate that with what I've experienced in the past, when I've been asked if I wanted my change back. My reply is, well yes, it is MY change. I always tip, unless the service is terrible, but I've been asked that a couple of times, and that attitude can sway me to not give a tip, due to rudeness.
