What are some really good recipes or ideas for 5-10 dollar 4 person family meals that I can make for dinner?

I have found a lot of really good ideas on this Facebook page. The recipe below is just one of the many I have tried from it and it is excellent.

    To make this, you'll need:
    2 crescent roll tubes
1 LB ground beef (or ground turkey)
    1 packet of taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Lay out the two tubes of crescent pastry, thick sides in. Use some of the left over crescent rolls to to make the center a bit thicker.
Brown beef and add taco seasoning.
Lay beef in a circle inside of the laid out crescent rolls
    Add cheese to the top
Pull over crescent rolls and tuck in under meat and cheese.Follow cook time on the pack of crescent rolls, and once it's done, you're good to go.
    ****** AFTER IT IS COOKED************
Add cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olives, sour cream or whatever you desire for your tacos, in the middle.

    Easy, cheap, and yummy!

This is kind of a loaded question, because most of the dinner recipes I know fit this description, haha!

    How about chili and rice?

    two cans of beans
    two pounds of beef
    1 cup of rice
chili powder (plus adobo or sugar or whatever you want to add)

Throw the beans and the beef (still frozen) into a big pot with half a cup of water and spices. Let it simmer uncovered on a low flame while the rice is cooking. Stir it occasionally so it doesn't stick to the pot.

Boil one cup of rice with two cups of water in another pot. Once it's boiling, turn the flame down and let it simmer covered for thirty minutes (or follow the instructions on the bag of rice). Turn off the fire and let it sit covered for five minutes.

Serve rice in a bowl with chili on top.

There's a blog I came across recently that is focused entirely on cheap recipe ideas:

. It's kind of cool because it also does a cost breakdown of all the items.

You should also check out Five Ingredient Fix on Food Network.

Pasta dishes are generally cheap. I just made linguini with clams today for example. The large can of clams was under $2.79, and the box of linguine was only $1. All the other ingredients I already had on hand (garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, black pepper, parsley, and lemon juice). Homemade Alfredo sauce is also very easy to make and really only uses 3 main ingredients, butter, cream and parmesean. Plus you can throw in all different kinds of fresh and frozen vegetables in it to change things up. Cajun Chicken Pasta is also relatively cheap and easy. Just sautee some chicken, peppers, mushrooms and onions in butter along with a generous amount of cajun seasoning, then toss it with pasta and fresh parsley and top it with some parmesan.

My go-to website for recipes is BBC Good Food. They've never let me down, and they've come up trumps again with this section of

. As a general rule, think of meals with more filling vegetables and pulses and less meat. Soups are always a good budget choice as well. A home made vegetable soup with crusty bread is a healthy, filling and cheap option for dinner.

I would have to say spaggetti and meatballs with whole kernel corn. The way you do this is to mix your meatballs with taco seasoning in the oven or on top of the stove, boil your spaggetti, mix all that together and put in your sauce, pour in some hot salsa. Keep it stirred up while cooking. Put a can of corn in a pot on the stove and place real butter in there with black pepper, when done, pour over your spaggetti and meatballs on your plate and that is your meal with some crackers.
