That's because, for all 6 billion of us who are not Chinese, there are "shopping agents" or intermediaries who charge a commission for buying stuff for you off TaoBao and then ship it to your location. Some of the most popular ones are MisterTao and AlsoTao.

TaoBao agents charge you for shipping according to the package's weight (unlike any of the stores you mentioned). Still, most items on TaoBao are very, very cheap, because you get to buy them directly from the manufacturer.
