    TaoBao is only available for Chinese people. You can't sell or buy there unless you have a Chinese bank account. That's because, for all 6 billion of us who are not Chinese, there are "shopping agents" or intermediaries who charge a commission for buying stuff for you off TaoBao and then ship it to your location. Some of the most popular ones are MisterTao and AlsoTao.

    Taobao is just a platform for sellers and buyers.You can open your stores on it and buy what you want.;)

    by now, taobao seemed still not quite fit for overseas buyers.
    And if you go through shopping agent, even it is trustworthy, isn't it too troublesome for some quality/size issue solving?

    I would have to agree with some of the comments here.. it does make more sense to buy locally. If returning a product is difficult it may not be worth buying from the site.. Having to pay the commission means you would end up buying stuff almost at the same cost but without the pleasure of touching feeling and choosing your merchandise. Makes no sense to me.
