Yep, true lol. That happens I think because they import their stuff from China, I think they have a special status that enables them to make cheaper importations, and we all know how Chinese work endless hour for very low values in China, so the result is super-cheap products with relatively OK quality.
I've bought stuff from Chinese stores before, mainly Dealextreme. While its important to choose a shop that has excellent return policies, I have not run into too many issues with the simple products I have purchased. Some things like computer cables work pretty much the same no matter where you buy them from.
I don't know about that lavender, some computer cables have inferior quality, I'd be careful with technology in Chinese stores. Batteries I never buy there again, I bought ones that were totally discharged, it's a bad deal. I buy mainly plastic in the Chinese stores.
There are few Chinese stores in my country, although they aren`t so crowded with products as I see in the pictures. I tend to avoid them, since I bought once a lovely porcelain set for tea, offered as a gift to a friend and she just used one day, one of the cups suddenly losing its handle. My conclusion was that products from these stores lack a sense of reliable quality
We don't have shops like that here, but it reminds me of the plastic shops which always cheap and they sell kitchen and bathroom supplies. I think you can find things like this online too, and they're not really bad at least it doesn't look bad on the picture. You can also find a lot of good replicas of expensive clothes or shoes.
Chinese shops are the best for cheap toys for the kids, for cheap presents for Christmas or birthdays, for carnival costumes, cheap clothing, for loads and loads of things, they really know how to set up a business and that is why we have hundreds of those stores, every single city as at least on of those.
