Our tradition here on Christmas day is the reunion of families and clans. Usually it is a pot luck arrangement for the food and much expected is the leftover. What we do is to divide the leftover food among us, family and relatives. For an actual example, we brought home today leftover food from our reunion that will save us meals for 2 days including desserts. In the olden days, the leftover was given to neighbors but now we have learned to be wise with food.

That's what we did too when our party giver was here with us. We had lots of leftovers that we brought home all the time and enjoyed for the next few days or so and remember the family reunion. Everyone's so busy during the year we hardly see each other. The many foods everyone brings for the party is very good too the kind you don't usually buy throughout the year so the leftovers are a big treat!

We try to take as much food home as possible. It's usually food you can keep in your fridge and reheat to eat later. If we get tired of it, we can add extra sauce to it or mix it in with something else such as chorizo to add extra flavor. If you had chicken, you can make soup and just add the left-over chicken in there. It's good and it saves a couple bucks.

We usually do not really have all that much, but for some reason that is different this year. We have a lot of leftover ham, which I am just glad it is not turkey this time.
