What's the last movie you saw in the cinema? Do you actually still go visit the movie house to watch or you just download stuff these days or buy DVDs?

The last film I saw at a cinema was The Mask back in 1994, I'm not a big fan of going to the cinema because of the extortionate prices they charge for entrance and food and you have to put up with rude people.

Mine is probably Pulp Fiction and yeah it is going back a few years.
I guess now I would rather pick up a dvd. No burning desire to see something
right off the mark. I am for the most part content to wait for the dvd release.
Also saves me some $$ as well.

I watched Broken City in the theater back a couple of months ago. Before then, I hadn't paid for a movie in at least 5 years. I only went because a buddy of mine really wanted to see it. I tend to not like any of the movies that are recent due to them trying to hard to appeal to the general public. I prefer older movies, which is perfect because those are the movies that are easiest to find online. If a movie appeals to me, I'd rather watch it for free and be disappointed then pay $14, have to deal with other moviegoers and be disappointed.

I saw Avengers at the cinema, but only because it was Avengers and I was curious. I rarely go nowadays because I've found a lot of new stuff that I'd rather spend time on. It's uneasy for me now to just sit still for 3 hours watching a story, I'm always tempted to get my phone out and start browsing while I watch because that's how I do it at home.

I last watched the movie "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen" in the cinema way back in 2003. Nowadays I find it a waste of money and effort to watch a movie in the cinema when you can just watch it at home for free.

Lol. It wasn't that bad. . . There were times that the movie was a tad boring though. And like I said in another thread, the first Iron Man was loads better than the third. However, watching movies at the cinema is not just about seeing the movie. It's also about socialization and going out of your shell once in a while. That's why I visit the movie theaters at least once a month.

LOL! I'm glad that I'm not the only one to not go to the movies very often. The last time I went to the movies was 9/30/2012. It was my birthday. I will never forget that day. I don't remember the name of the movie, but it was about parents taking over *bad* schools. It starred Viola Davis and Holly Hunter. I did enjoy the movie. Later that day, I was mugged two blocks from my apartment. It was an interesting evening.

We saw the latest G.I. Joe movie. It was the one that had Dwayne Johnson in it. I really did not like it at all. It was very clichie to me, and the acting was not that great either. But it was nt my type of movie in the first place. I really prefer to see spooky movies. It was my youngest sons turn to pick the movie that day. But both my sons did enjoy the movie. They thought it was very entertaining. And the fun part about our local movie theater is playing the air hockey and pool while waiting for the movie to start. We always have fun playing these games. They also have a basketball game we like to play.

On average we go to the movies about once or twice a year. It is so expensive to go, so it is a rare treat.

`Tis a shame that our land is 'plagued' with the need for money. Makes you wish we had kind of a 'providing for customers as they have need (because you know that they do the same for you)'-system like in STAR TREK (although we 'know' that it would descend into the nightmare-vision of Socialism :( )

Though Capitalism IS the ultimate-best system, it leaves us at the mercy of those who have the 'capital'---a happy circumstance when the merciful have the capital, but rare since 'gaining capital' most-commonly necessitates unmerciful habits.

It's only because of merciful people (my grandparents, my friends, my mom) that I ever got the chance to see movies 'on the big screen.' But people's greed (plus the portability & availability of DVDs and/or cable-TV options) make it so much 'easier' to watch movies at home.

Besides, big-screen viewing is only 'necessary' when you want to get 'the feeling' that comes from totally immersing yourself in the filmmakers' manifestations---e.g. the sweeping mountains of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit-series, the soaring starscapes of ... more outer-space movies than I care to list---or maybe the near-total elimination of any immediate concern EXCEPT the goings-on in the movie.

The last movie I saw was "Noah". Yes, I still go to the movie house. I love going to the movies and eating candy and popcorn. I especially love the popcorn. I like the big screen and getting out of the house. I would go more often, but I can't afford it.

The last movie that I saw in the theatres was in March and it was The Lego Movie. It was actually a pretty decent movie, although there was a child in the theatre that sat right behind me and he was blurting out what would happen during every part of the movie, it was very annoying because the element of surprise was ruined for me. When movies comes out on DVD, I purchase original copies. My motive to purchase them has nothing to do with "paying the producers, actors etc", I just flatly like owning original DVD copies.

The last movie I saw in the theatre was the second Hobbit movie I think, it's pretty rare that I go nowadays, I try to only go for the movies that I think are a better experience in the theatre than at home, I'll definitely be watching The Expendables III for example.

Last movie I saw on Cinema was Captain America and my God that movie sucks, I mean it's okay but judging by the price I paid, it sucks. I still go to Cinema's I mean, if I had a giant TV on my living room that'd be great but I like watching movies on theater. I just don't like the fact that you won't really enjoy it that much compared to watching it at home with a couple friends a case of beer.

The last movie that I saw in a cinema was the second Hobbit Movie (The Hobbit Desolation Of Smaug). I don't tend to go to the cinemas so much nowadays due to alternate methods of obtaining and watching these movie online, but I still go occasionally depending on whether my friends want to go to the cinema or if I want to see the movie on a large screen. I am annoyed by the ridiculous popcorn/drink prices and the people that I sometimes have to put up with, though.

But you know that that's how the movie theaters make 'any money at all' profit? I worked at a movie-theater for a month and found out that the popcorn is 'nearly free' before we sell it to you  (that was before I got fired for my immaturity, shown in various things that included 'announcing' that price-disparity on the Internet :( )

But that's forgetting the things the theater provides FOR F.REE (the ticket-prices BARELY cover the cost of the film-purchase, then there's the air-conditioning, clean screening-rooms ...)

The main reasons I go to movie-theaters are a) the curiosity-fed 'need' to see a movie as soon as it comes to theaters (before the curiosity dies out & it's on DVD :) ) or b) to see a movie I know is going to have huge aerial shots (LIKE The Hobbit's or the Lord of the Rings's).
