I come from the tropics where the weather sometimes fails to be in sync with the weatherman's predictions. There could be flooding or delayed rains which could result in crop loss. There is a new insurance product that is tailored towards crop losses. Do you have such in your country?

It's become legally mandatory to have crop insurance in my country - especially during this time of drought and scarce water supply. Many farmers have lost a great chunk of their income because extreme heat and drying wells have resulted to poor yield. Although ideally provided by the government, which we know can be efficient in the developing world, many NGOs have undertaken the task of providing farmers crop insurance coverage to offset the losses incurred by drought, calamities and other fortuitous events.
