Yesterday I came across this new contraption called a sun oven, also known as solar oven. I think it's the coolest thing. But it has me wondering what other solar products are out there...

So, what other solar products are out there?

We have solar powered walkway lights. It's not the most high tech use of solar, but I think it's pretty nifty. There's a timer that turns it on the same time everyday, and because I don't pay for the electricity, I don't care as much leaving it on for long periods of time.

I still use my solar powered watch. I've been using them for over 10 years now and never had a problem with them losing battery power. Ever.

Prior to that I paid several hundred dollars for a "kinetic" watch that would recharge itself from the motion in your arm. That thing was constantly losing all its power and I would have to shake it around for hours - what a waste.

While driving through Tennessee last week, I came across a solar panel farm. It was a field covered in solar panels. Imagine my surprise... :D Anyway, in my research I've come across some more solar products... solar refrigerator, radio, lantern and flashlight. Can anybody think of anything else???

I have those solar garden lights too, a tad expensive but much less hassle than cables.

I'm looking to get a solar charging laptop bag soon as well. Always useful out and about where finding a power source can be difficult. This is especially useful for older and high spec laptops which will brain a battery in 2 hours. Not so much a problem for newer notebooks who last 8 hours.
