I use either my phone or my tablet just because I'm in the process of getting a new laptop. It's kind of irritating not having a laptop just because there are a lot of things I can't do while on my phone/tablet.
I access the Internet either from a Laptop or a Desktop. Right now I use the Desktop most of the time to access the Internet. I have never used my phone for this purpose. I use my phone mainly for making or receiving calls and text messages, checking the time, or setting the alarm. I cannot access the Internet via the phone that I have right now.
I access internet from a phone, tablet as well as laptop. Usually,I surf the net on my laptop. However, when I am not using my laptop, I access internet from my phone or tablet. When I want to spend longer hours, I use tablet and when I am just checking emails, social media notifications of simple search, I use phone.
I can access internet using my cellphone but it would cost me a lot so I am just relying on the available wifi. And if there is no wifi then I don't surf the internet. Our home internet is connected to our landline and it is cheap compared to independent internet provider. That's fine because the speed is slow but not very slow, just fine for simple internet access (we don't do business). Back to the phone, the internet charge is quite exorbitant when I tried it at first. My billing was almost double of the usual phone bill.
I use my mobile wifi hot spot on my cell phone because it gives me fast internet on my laptop. I don't need to pay for additional services from an ISP with the cable company. I remember when I didn't do that. I was spending $50 dollars a month for my cell phone, and also spending another $50 a month for my home internet. Now I pay $60 dollars a month for unlimited high speed internet and mobile wifi hot spot with my phone service, and ditched the home internet plan. It's better because I have a hot spot every where I get a signal. You can't do that with a home internet plan.
I access mostly from my laptop, but I use my phone too. I am really just now learning on my smart phone. Before, I only had a cheap emergency phone. It is interesting to hear your take on the the unlimited data plan. Several seem to favor that and find more cost effective, so I will be monitoring that for myself.
Currently I have uncapped adsl for $50 at home. I have connected this to a wifi router and run the following devices from the router. My own: PC, Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet, PS3, PSP. Fiancee: PC, Laptop, 2 x smartphones. Mother: PC, Smartphone, Tablet. Father: Smartphone, Tablet. My parents live next door so they share our internet connection. Really saves a lot on money as we split the bill.
For me, I use internet on my phone throuhgout the day. After the kiddos go to bed at night, I log on on my laptop to do everything I need to do, which all requires internet. I find it hard to manage being on my laptop and managing three toddlers. lol
I don't know why, but I can't stand trying to view info, read, socialise etc via a phone. It feels so limiting. Right now I'm on a tablet.. that's as small as I get, but I prefer my laptop. Actually, I'd prefer none of the above, but I can't go there until I opt out to live in the wild lol
My pc has crashed. It needs a new hard drive. I have not yet replaced the pc, therefore, many of the things I would do on the pc is now done on my phone. At first, doing some of these applications on the phone was a tedious task but I have grown to understand these processes much better and it has been more easier fo me now.
I use both, at the same time. You see, I spend a lot of time playing World of Warcraft. That I do on my laptop. Then as I am questing, I often run into a deadend. Instead of bringing up the browser on the laptop, I use my smartphone to find a solution. I also use my smartphone when I set my laptop to do things like defrag, which takes quite a while.
Well it used to be the case for me that the phone was only to use when I needed to, but I am slowly catching up with the trend here and starting to use the phone a lot more. I am similar to the user above in that I often have them both going, because often I am tied up on the computer for work, so I have just been getting better at using the phone. I would not have guessed it would turn out this way, but here I am. Thanks for sharing.
Actually, I have become so used to following Facebook on my phone that it seems a bit strange for me to read Facebook items on my computer screen. There is a certain kind of intimacy about reading Facebook items on the phone. For one, I don't have to be sitting at a desk to do it. I can read while lying down in bed. However when it comes to writing, I must use a computer. Using a phone to write literally cramps my style. I am a two-handed touch typist. Typing with thumbs is very slow by comparison.
It would depend on what I am trying to achieve. If I am just reading the news or looking something up real quick I would use my phone. If it was work related or I had to put together an email I would go with the laptop. For me using a laptop is that much easier. I don't ever tether my phone to my laptop for internet connection, I have an internet connection at my house that I use when using my laptop.
I access from laptop, desktop, chromebox, and occassionally a phone or tablet. I like the bigger screen and big keyboard. It's sometimes quite handy to use the phone though. The other night I had already gone to bed and thought of something that I needed to look up. I did not have to get up, i just used my phone. That was great, but using the phone for normal everyday functioning is rather tedious in my opinion.
I use both. But, when I need to write something on a forum or website, or when I need to blog or write an email, I tend to write it on a desktop or laptop. I use my phone and tab for watching vids, playing some games, for communicating, and for keeping up with the news.
I try to use wifi when I'm out of the house but I have a great deal with Cox so it's just cheaper to get on the internet via a laptop. I once tried to do it through my phone provider and ended up with a five hundred dollar bill because people were stealing my account. I just bundle my phone, high speed internet, and tv together for about eighty dollars a month.
I have just found out something strange. I have become so used to surfing Facebook on my smartphone that I found it to be more comfortable than surfing on my laptop. So now when I am online, I would be doing some work on my laptop while peeking at my smartphone now and then to see what my friends are up to.
I tend to access the internet through my smartphone where I can, and I do so out of convenience, and I also do it because I don't like to keep burning electric and money plugging in my laptop all of the time. The same goes for my desktop computer. My smartphone battery lasts very long off of one charge.
When it comes to getting connected with the online world, I preferibly like doing it from my PC or laptop, it really is way more comfortable and relaxing for my eyes, it's quite annoying to browse on the internet from a phone it's even worse and harder when you wear glasses.
