Yes this seems to be a very viable option when it comes to electronics. These products are generally expensive and you can at least get some discount going for the refurbished option. Keep in mind though to always check out the warranty information. On some companies, they tend to lower the value because of some warranty/insurance limitations.

Yeah! I recently bought a small netbook. It was refurbished and only has a small scratch on the outside now. It works perfectly and it's powerful enough to do practically anything I need while I'm on the go.

Yep, more or less agree with the Apple thing. I'm using a refurbished Apple laptop right now, and it's been no worse than a brand-new laptop. Saved me a couple hundred bucks in the process, too, which was nice. The only problem I've had is with the CD drive, as it won't allow me to watch DVDs anymore, but I think that's an OS issue rather than hardware.

That said, I'm leery about refurbished stuff from smaller dealers. I need a fairly hearty assurance from reviews that a company is going to properly repurpose their electronics. Apple has that; smaller dealers often do not.

For items I'm less careful of, I would be okay with using a smaller shop. I use a very old ipad that still works well, for example, and I just had it refurbished at a shop that does it for cheap, and of course the materials I got were cheap too and it is noticeable and they don't even try to hide it since it is their angle. However, since it's a very old ipad that I only use for watching some videos or browsing from time to time, I don't mind the lesser quality of the refurbishment.

My sister was able to buy a refurbished Apple iPod direct from the Apple website. This was 5 years ago and until now, the iPod is still in very good working condition. I have no qualms of buying refurbished electronic products as long as they are from reputable stores. Also, they should offer warranty service even for a minimum period only.

Refurbished items are good to buy simply because they are put back the way they originally was. Why buy a new iPad when you can get a refurbished in brand new condition for hundreds less?

I do actually but you have to really beware especially when it comes to electronics. If you're on a budget then it might be the best option you have since most of the refurbished items being sold are really cheap in comparison to their brand new counterparts.

The only thing you have to worry about when it comes to buying refurbished stuff is the fact that it might break anytime so better make sure that you buy from stores/people that would provide you with assistance when such things happen.

Yes I do! I almost always look for refurbished electronics before I get a brand new one. I typically prefer them because they're much cheaper than the new one and you can be sure that it's going to work well. My only problem with refurbished items though is that, well since their refurbished you have that small chance of it breaking or doing something weird within the course of it's lifetime. But I find that chance to be very small and luckily hasn't happened to any of my stuff yet that I got.

Depends on what kind of product I'm buying. If it's something that I'm probably not going to be using too often like maybe a laptop for when I'm on the go or something but when it comes to more serious stuff like maybe a work computer or a phone then no. I love buying cheap stuff but I'm all for the assurance of quality, not to say of course that refurbished items are always in bad shape.
