Remember the Flowbee? This device allowed you to cut your own hair at home and save BIG on salon costs. Admittedly, I NEVER used this device, but I have a friend who Flowbee-d her entire families hair. So, do you cut your own hair to save money? I mainly trim mine in order to skip a visit or two. Otherwise, for specific styling, I visit my favorite hair stylist.
Great stuff. Maybe I will recommend it to my clients for between cuts (lol). I do my hairdressing business from home, and charge very little. I taught myself from DVD's and workbooks, practicing on people who could not afford to go to the salon. Cutting your own hair can be a nightmare, especially when it's long. It's best to get a friend to do it. Check out "one length cuts" on Youtube for the most simple long cut.
Sadly I don't! I don't have the skills to cut my own hair... or anyone else's for that matter! I would never even try to cut my own hair because I know it would turn out to be a mess!
Nope, perhaps if I was desperate I would but honestly I think I would just go months between cuts and/or go to a very inexpensive salon before I would put myself in charge of scissors that are anywhere near my head. With that being said I have a lot of male friends who cut their own hair and some of my female friends who have very long hair (almost waist length) cut their hair too because they just cut straight across.
I always cut my own hair. Going to a shop to get it done is a waste of money. I would rather spend my cash elsewhere.
My husband and I cut our own hair at home. He has his own device to do the trimming himself and I've got my scissors My hair used to be very long until I cut it myself few weeks ago. I also think it's faster to cut my own hair than going to the saloon plus, we can save a bit more money to put into our savings.
In all honesty, one of the things that I've been doing recently is trying to find every way that I can find in order to save money and that does mean that I've taken to cutting my own hair. You see, I'm not really big on fashion and because of that I don't care if it is perfect. What amazes me is that I have been getting compliments on my new haircut.
I wish that I could cut my own hair but I can't, its too long and it would be uneven. But I sometimes get my mom to cut it for me because she can see it better. It definitely saves money all the time. One of my aunts is a hair dresser and she cuts hair for a living so when I got to her to cut my hair she knows exactly how I like it and she charges only about $50, she also throws in a free eyebrow waxing for me.
I don't in the Winter and Autumn because I wear my hair a bit longer there, but in the Summer and Spring, when it's hotter I have a buzzer that I bought so I can cut it myself, since I wear it really short during those months. I've considered wearing it very short during the whole year because it really is a significant amount that I save but it just gets too cold
I used to trim my own hair but I finally gave it up and now I see a stylist every two to three months. It makes it so much easier. Sometimes in my busy lifestyle I just don't have the time.
We do the same and for the same reasons, saving money. If you're not in need of a fancy haircut, why pay a specialist? One could easily trim the hair with scissors, it just takes a little practice, a haircut or two, to get good at it. We had a few special occasions (wedding, fancy parties) when we went to a stylist, and after that, we just followed the patterns.
No, I don't and I won't even if there were a device. The device cannot make the style that I like, so I would still rather go to a salon shop and ask the stylist to do the style that I want. Moreover, if I didn't like the style at least there would be someone I can blame. But more than that, I just really can't do it alone. I am scared that something might go wrong. I think it's not my forte. Besides, I only have my hairdo very rarely so I don't think spending for it will hurt that much.
I would never cut my own hair, I wouldn't trust myself to do so as I am not a professional and I don't want to cut it wrong as I would regret it. The only person I trust to cut my hair is my hairdresser so I don't know what I'd do if she stopped her job as a hairdresser.
I've gotten buzz cuts since I was 10 years old. I just never really cared all that much to try and style my hair and just prefer it to be out of the way. I found that hair cut places loved me because I took about 5 minutes to complete and was paying $10 for the buzz cut. So about the past year or so, I bought a $30 set of clippers and just started doing my own buzz cuts. Tends to work out extremely well and then I just have a roommate trim up any places I missed.
I don't think I would dare to do this to my hair. If you mess up your hair, it can significantly affect your looks and it takes a really long time to grow back your hair again. I just try to save by making my visit to the salon at least once every 2 months only. Some people would go for a trim every month, but so far, 2 months work fine for me as well. I still don't get my split ends before that time.
