Do you feel bad when you don't buy fruits and veggies?

Hum.....sort of a strange question, really. I always buy food and vegetables so thought of not buying them as part of my weekly shopping just sounds strange. I have no idea if people who don't buy it ever feel bad for it, but as someone said in here, they are choosing not to buy it so I guess they are making their own choices. I believe we all live in different realities, and what is obvious for some of us, is just not relevant for others. I know a mum who feeds her 1 and 3 year olds crisps and other salty snacks all of the time. It would never cross my mind to do so but I just came to understand that she just sees things differently from me....we all have different priorities. I read labels, for example, and try to reduce all conservatives, colourings, etc, to a minimum, but I know lots and lots of people who never ever read a label when they buy something. They just buy things that ''look'' healthy. On the other side I also know people who go to the other extreme, and won't touch sugar or any sort of flour because they consider them evil. Each to their own, I suppose.

I agree with ohiotom76. I think it's really judgmental to assume that other people shopping in your grocery store are making bad purchases. While it's true that some people may be lazy and only eat junk food knowing that it's unhealthy, others may just be uninformed. Not everyone understands nutrition. Not everyone has been raised to not crave junk food. Some people don't know how to eat vegetables and fruits in their every day diets. Some don't realize the long-term effects of poor eating habits because they were never taught that. Some just don't know how to cook or eat fresh foods.

I personally do enjoy a diet full of vegetables and fruits, but I don't ever feel bad if I don't stock up on it. Sometimes, I splurge on ice cream or get a sugary cereal. It does not mean that I am unhealthy - and I certainly hope people do not look at my cart and think that.
