Ever since the ice storm of 98 I have been meaning to start one. Yeah, it's been that long and I still haven't started one lol. Anyway.. it was (or was supposed to be lol) a wake up call. Our power was out for ages and it was too dangerous to even walk the streets for fear of exploding transformers or falling trees. People were dying trying to keep warm with inappropriate methods etc. It would have been nice to have everything we needed and I'd hate to go through that again or something worse. Thank you for the reminder.

I have a medical kit, i guess that counts...
Aside from that, i think the rest if too much, but who knows, maybe i am the one being careless without thinking things through.

I don't see anything wrong with stocking up on stuff like that in case of an emergency because you never know when disaster will strike. You don't always have enough warning to prepare and then you may not have the money to get the stuff, it is just better to plan ahead just in case then not and then be wishing you had. I always tried to stay stocked up on things like can goods, batteries, water etc. because you just never know.

Sadly I don't have any kind of survival kit.
I only have emergency kits with band aids and other things like pepper spray and pins and needles. I feel like this has been something that has always been on my to do list but I sadly just never got to it.
I also feel like I don't even need one because I pretty much know where everything is, and all I need to do is to just throw it all together in a baggy.
It certainly is a better idea to have one prepared of course for those "who knows" moments.

I don't think it's crazy at all to have survival kits just in case it's a good idea and i'm thinking of starting my own soon.
