I think more people are shopping online for the convenience and prices. There's simply more choices when you shop online and it's available to see 24/7. The thought of choosing what you want to buy right from your home brings a lot of savings. Transportation and time always come with a cost. The only thing is the wait for the product and the trust of the buyer. If it's a shady website, then avoid it completely!
There are some things that I like to buy online. I don't like to buy clothes online. I prefer to try my clothes on before I buy. I am very particular about my clothes. I also don't buy food online. I don't have a problem buying books or electronics online. I have my favorite reputable websites and I have never had any problems.
I prefer to buy textbooks online. I can usually rent or find a book on amazon for less than half of what the bookstore is trying to sell it for. There are also items which I have to purchase in a real store. I have to make sure that my clothes fit in the right places. With online shopping, you are never entirely sure that the clothes will fit correctly.
I prefer to buy lots of things online. The price is usually alot lower, and for the things that youre very familiar with, you can usually seperate the bad brands from the good. However, theres something to be said about the convenience of driving a few minutes to have it and be able to use it NOW. If the price difference is a couple of dollars i prefer to go in store for it. The other benefit of in store is that if its wrong or breaks, its much easier to return to the store than to mail it back.
I always preferred to shop in person, cause I love to go to malls and stores and look around. I guess in general I still do prefer that, but I find myself shopping online way more often now, cause I don't really have the time or the patience to go to the stores anymore. Also, online you can often find more stuff available than in the stores. For example, I hate to go to a Sephora and not find there what I went there to buy. It's a waste of time. Online I'll know immediately if what I want is available or not, and if it's not I can simply put my email for when it gets available. It's easier and faster.
I rather shop online than in a physical store just because I feel like their is a lot more options of course the wait sucks but other than that I love shopping online!
I don't like shopping at all! When I have to buy I prefer online because it's more convenient and cheaper, except for clothing that I need to try on. Sometimes it's also a social event with the wife (and kids) because she loves shopping...
If I could buy everything I need online I would. I do not enjoy going out to stores and purchasing things. It takes a lot more energy and time then I have. To add, I'm also a stickler for customer service. I guess this is because I've done customer service type jobs since I started working. Because of that, a bad customer service experience can completely ruin my opinion of a store. That's really all it takes for me. So much easier to cut out the middle man and get things online if I can. I much prefer shopping online. So much less of a hassle.
I actually completely enjoy grocery shopping. I do it two to three times a week. And I like it. But I've almost entirely switched to online shopping for clothes and shoes, even for my kids. The thing is, the deals are definitely there, the time saved is worth the price of shipping when I have to pay it, and avoiding the other PEOPLE in the stores and parking lots is worth its weight in gold. In the last two years, I've actually found my best Christmas presents online during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Combined with the cash kickback I get from usingLog In, I've seriously saved a lot of money.
I'm what you'd call a misanthrope. People made me hate so I'd rather not meet people. Online shopping therefore saves the pain of having to meet people in real life. Online it's different. . .
I much prefer to shop online because I get very annoyed when I have to mix with large crowds of rude people who bump into you. The only thing I have to go out and buy are clothes because if I order them online and they don't fit I won't bother to send them back and I still have a closet full of small clothes!
It depends on what I'm shopping for really. If it's just for clothes, I can do online. But with shoes, I'm a bit more strict because I really want to fit them first.
I do prefer to shop online. If I were in my home town, my answer would be different. It was actually nice shopping downtown. You could stroll from store to store without crowds and pushy sales people.. everything was close together, no big box stores, finish off with lunch and drinks on a patio on the waterfront. It was a nice day out. Now I have to drive 40 billion minutes from store to store unless I want to shop in bigboxville..
In my case, the choice is relative. Not long ago, I was completely unaware of the advantages of online shopping, but little by little I discovered many benefits of this type of service. There is an advantage that is clear: we have available an extensive catalog of products at the distance of a click. This allows us to choose what we want in the comfort of our home and if necessary, buy it. Many people make their choice on the Internet, but they prefer to buy the product in a real store. Each of these alternatives has its strengths and its weaknesses. As I said back lines, I'm slowly migrating from a way to buy another. Determining factors? The convenience, cost and offers.
I do both, but I still prefer buying from actual stores to some degree. I like the charm of seeing everything displayed in front of me, and me not having to click to see every little detail about every one of them. I tend to buy online for when I want to buy single items, but usually if I have to shop for gifts for many people, I still prefer to just get everything at a mall.
I prefer shopping online myself, because of all the great deals you can get when shopping online. Online shopping never goes wrong, unless you make bad decesions. The only thing you have to worry about when shopping online, is being careful. Always look over your purchases, because the slightest mistake can result in a negative way. There is a lot that can go wrong with online shopping. There is also that shipping cost every one hates. Honestly I don't know why I love online shopping over real life lol, it's just what i'm used too.
Yes, not being able to try on clothes is the major drawback to shopping online. However, I have found that when I know the brand/store and my size in an item, I can buy things online en masse regularly. It's actually very nice and convenient! I do enjoy a real-life shopping trip every now and then. I think the transportation cost involved in getting to the store kind of cancels out with the shipping costs of an online item. And if the online item does not fit, you have to drive back to the post office anyway to send it back. As far as cost goes, I think it's pretty much the same. The main difference is, as long as you know your size, you can buy things up when they're on sale and you don't have time to make it to the store.
It depends on want to buy in order to decide if I'm going to buy the item on line or off line. I like to buy books online, as well as electronics, such as laptops, wireless hotspot, etc. I also like to buy some clothes on line, especially if they are the designer brands, because you can usually buy these at a significantly lower price on line than you would off line. I would buy organic, non-perishable foods on line because it's cheaper to buy foods from there too, especially from sites such as Amazon. Recently, I read an article on Lifehacker.com which was entitled,Log In . They did some comparisons between Amazon and stores such as Walmart, Best Buy, and Safeway, and they found out that Amazon was cheaper in almost every case, except where groceries were bought, and in that case Safeway won that comparison. You can read the article as soon as you get the chance to.
Depends what I'm doing. If I need to find something specific I buy online but if I am just going browsing it's nice to do it in real life and get out and about with friends
I only purchase things online that I'm sure I won't find at a better price elsewhere, such as phone cases and other phone accessories. I purchased a DVD online once as well and it came in excellent condition. Like some here, I would never purchase clothing online, I rather try it on to see if I like how it looks on me or not.
