Always! In our country, when you buy screen guards or protectors, there is a free application done by the store tenants. It is really cool because they are experts in putting the screen guards on and so you would not have to worry about bubbles. I love having a screen guard on because I am really clumsy with my gadgets. Sometimes I just throw it in the bag along with metal objects like keys or pouches with zippers. It can scratch the screen if it does not have protection on.
I had bought a screen guard when I got to own a Samsung S3. Even if it was just a gift, I understand it is an expensive phone so I bought a screen protector and a case as well. Now that phone has been with me for more than 2 years already and still working well except for the faulty battery that I had replaced last year.
I noticed that when you buy a new phone, it already comes with a screen protector on it, and from my experience, it doesn't seem to hamper the images or how I swipe, so I think the screen protectors that you guys are buying might be too thick?
When I had my first smart phone and iPod Touch, I invested in all sorts of extras such as the screen protectors, quilted protective cases, etc., and really babied them. After the first one, I bought the screen protector, but forgot to put it on, and since the phone hadn't gotten scratched, I haven't bothered with them since. I haven't had any issues with the screens getting scratched or cracked, so I don't feel it's necessary for how I handle my devices.
Screen protector is a small invesment that goes a long run. I wouldn't mind spending a few bucks to get one.
I think the latest with screen protectors is the so-called "tempered glass". It's several times more expensive but can really protect your gadget's screen from breakage not only from scratches. I think it's worth it.
