After being ill for over a year, I finally discovered I had been suffering from coeliac disease. I don't have an intolerance or I am not allergic, but my body is confused by gluten. It is an auto-immune disease, which basically means when gluten enters my body I think it is a disease so my white blood cells fight it and try to get it out of my body. Undiagnosed people who suffer from coeliac, generally have lost alot of weight as their body is in starvation mode. Getting diagnosed was such a relief because I finally new I was not getting sick for no reason. However it meant I had to completely change my life and my eating habits. All gluten had to be cut out of my diet, eating in restaurants was difficult and going on holiday felt like a military operation packin enough food in my suitcase. I have been diagnosed for six years now, and the gluten free industry has moved on alot. In England I can now order a gluten free Dominoes pizza, and every supermarket generally has a 'freefrom' section. I have also loved baking and has found it easy to still do this, I just use gluten free products, I still haven't quite grasped the art of bread making!!

Does anyone suffer from coeliacs? Do ouy have any recipes to share? Or tips to buying gluten free foods? Restaurants they know caters for gluten free?

I don't have coeliac disease, I do however suffer from a mild wheat sensitivity. I do get bloating that subsides about 24 hours after consuming gluten, but luckily it doesn't give me the sever symptoms that some suffers have. If I am only consuming residual gluten in things like soups and package flavorings then I am usually fine, as long as I am not consuming several slices of bread or a pizza for example.
